Advances in Architectural Geometry 2012
During the Advances in Architectural Geometry 2012 symposium, co-organised by the Centre Pompidou and the ENSA Paris-Malquais, I led a short workshop introducing industrial robotics and how the use of these mechanical systems could influence and modify the way we design and manufacture architectural components, through the exemple of hot-wire cut foam-shell panels.
The participants learned the basics of robot programming & simulation using HAL for Grasshopper, and then produced some simple parts using an ABB IRB120 and a 650mm hot wire cutter.
